President and Owner
I have been working for Ripa Industries since the beginning. I saw the hard work, strategy and persistence it took to build a fabrication shop from the ground up. I started by sweeping the floors when I was 11. I was the labourer, apprentice fitter, journeyman fitter, head fitter and general manager before I bought the company from Richard (yep – my Dad!). As its new owner I am committed to sticking to the ways we made this business succeed while bringing fresh and creative ideas to the table. My lifelong career in fabrication gives me a keen sense of what is needed to get the job done. I value persistence, honesty hard work and getting the job done right with the utmost care in design and execution.
I have been working in pressure equipment shops for close to 30 years starting out part time on weekends while I was still in school. At the age of 22 I obtained my Alberta “B” ticket. My time on the floor was spent welding, fitting and doing a variety of other tasks. I’ve been in QC / Management since 2007. At Ripa I oversee Quality Control as well as Pressure Vessels.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my two children and working on vehicles as a pastime.
